All swimmers will join us for our "PHAST PHUN" penguin-only fun meet on 7/22!
- The Emperor Penguin Program is designed to help prepare swimmers for the Penguin Swim Team and will offer instruction in the four competitive strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.
- This pre-swim team program is supervised by the swim team head coach in addition to the head emperor coach and instruction by the junior coaches.
- The intended age group is for swimmers 4-8 years old.
- The Emperor Program is not individual one one-on-one swim lessons, swimmers will be placed in small groups with an in-water helper. Typically, the ratio is 1:3, 1:4, or 1:5.
- Placement in the program is on a first come, first served basis.
Applicants are required to pass Emperor Swimmer Evaluations.
To be eligible for Emperors, your swimmer should be able to: -
- Swim 10-15 feet to an instructor
- Enter the water by themselves
- Take a breath
- Put their face in the water
- Swim in a forward motion
- Use the wall for short breaks without using it to move forward
- Stay on the wall and listen/follow directions and wait their turn
A swimmer may secure a spot in the Emperor Penguin Swim Program for a maximum of two years.

The same guidelines as above include: Includes family “Daily Pool Access” pass during the Emperor program June 16 – July 24 only; no parties or voting privileges; no guests; children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. *NON-PHA Members interested in joining our Emperor Penguin program must contact a swim director. |
